天井装飾／千仏図（パヤーンガーズー寺院群（No.1844））
Explanation
城壁で囲まれたオールド・バガンの東側、ティーローミンロー（No.1812）の西側にある、5基の同型の寺院群からなるパヤーンガーズー・グループにある1844号寺院の壁画。北を正面とする寺院の南天井。中央に方形部分を持つ十字の中に転法輪印仏坐像が描かれ、それが等間隔に斜めに配置されている。さらに空いた空間が転法輪印仏坐像の千仏で埋め尽くされ、背景の色を変えることでひし形の模様を作り出している。最下部には塑像の本尊の菩提樹がみえる。(JT)
