過去仏図／ジャータカ図（ウェッチーイン・グービャウチー（No.298））
Explanation
バガンの東部、シュエズィーゴン・パゴダ（No.1）の南、ウェッチーイン村の南東にある東正面の寺院。東突出部北壁西側の壁画。上部向かって左から過去28仏のうち、第17仏～第21仏を描いている。過去仏図は触地印坐像で仏塔を載せた建物の上部に、それぞれの過去仏の菩提樹が、下部には当時の釈迦の前世への授記が描かれている。また本図下部の升目状の区画内に、第272話以降のジャータカが1話1図で描かれている。各壁画の下部には墨書による古ビルマ語の説明がある。(JT)
