城壁で囲まれたオールド・バガンの南、ミィンカバー村を過ぎて、さらに少し南に下った先にある北正面の寺院。主室の回廊外壁の下部、輪王坐の神像の直上に位置する遊戯坐の神像の上半身。蓮華を左腕に絡ませており、菩薩とも考えられる。(JT)

『パガンの仏教壁画』pl.12／装身具を付けた菩薩／アベーヤダナー寺院の菩薩像■下から三層目、蓮華座上で倚坐姿をとる菩薩で、武器は持っていない。顔は円味を帯びていて女性的だが、上瞼の中央が垂れ下がっている上に目尻が釣り上がりであるところからまるで睨みつけているような鋭いまなざしを形作っている。菩薩特有の宝冠、耳飾りのほかに五重の首飾りとその中央の三角形ペンダントとが目をひく。両肩の後に伸びた長い黒髪も女性的雰囲気をかもし出すのに一役買っている。左手は胸の前に挙げて親指と中指との間で環を作っており、そこを通った茎が肩の上まで伸びて花開いている。この写真では下半身は見えないが、左足を曲げ右足を蓮華座の下に斜めに踏み下げにした倚坐である。なお、右手は右膝の上に伸し掌を外向けに拡げている。
