『パガンの仏教壁画』pl.209／星宿図／チャウトーヂー寺院の星宿図■天空が24の方角に区画され、それぞれの星座が示されている。星座は内外両面に大別され、内部に9、外部に28あるとされる。内部の9大星座とは、鴉座、天竺鴛鴦座、蟹座、天秤座、簪座、漁夫座、象座、馬座、鷺座であり、外部の28星座は南に9、西に7、東と北に6ずつあるとされている。これらの星座はすべて、寝台、茉莉花、玉座、尖塔、十字、法螺貝、つがいの鴛鴦など、独自の形をもっている。
