『チベット密教壁画』バスゴーpl.3／成就者ナーローパ／チベット仏教の有力な一派であるカーギュッ派(Bkahrgyudpa)の開祖マルパ(Marpa)の師であったナーローパ(N?ropa)。インドのヴィクラマシラー僧院の六人の高僧(六賢門)の一人であり、大乗仏教学にも秀れていたが、なかんずく密教行者として名高く、八十四成就者伝にも加えられている。彼の教義はとくに「ナーローパの六法」として知られている。成就者の通例としてナーローパも半裸で牛の皮の上に坐し、人間の皮と花輪を身につけ、巨大な角笛を吹ている。同壁画は金銅堂二階の持金剛を中心とするカーギュッ派の相承を説く個所に描かれている。
