金剛薩埵と千体仏 (DM)
サスポール石窟は、変形の五角形をとり、入り口入って左側の壁（西壁）と、入り口正面の壁（北壁）の間に、幅の狭い壁がある。便宜上西北小壁を呼ぶ。その上部には成就者が、そして金剛薩埵と、その忿怒形が描かれる。丸顔で首を少し傾けたかわいらしい表情が印象的。(MS)

『チベット密教壁画』サスポールpl.10／金剛薩?／後壁右上部。白色菩薩形のヴァジュラサットヴァ(Vajrasattva、金剛薩?)。チベット密教の教理では阿?如来(Aksobhya)と同体とされるが､後世では本初仏(?dibud-dha)として五仏よりも上位に位置することもある。同じ本初仏の持金剛(Vajradhara)との同異が問題とされる場合もあるが原則として身色が異なる(持金剛は青色)。金剛薩?は結跏趺坐して、右手に金剛杵(胸前)、左手に金剛鈴(膝上)を持つのがその特徴である。本初仏であるため周囲には五仏が千体仏的配置で表現されている。
