ツォンカパ大師と弟子たち (DM)
ツォンカパの集会樹と言える図像。チベット仏教は、仏・法・僧の三宝のうち、釈迦の教えを伝える僧、特に自分の師を尊敬することを重視します。仏と師の系統を絵画化したものが集会樹と呼ばれるジャンルの図像である。このサスポール石窟の図像は、のちの集会樹につながる原始的な表現だと思われる。(MS)

『チベット密教壁画』サスポールpl.14／ツォンカパの集会図／チベット仏教の事実上の大成者、ゲールック(Dgelugspa)派の開祖ツォンカパ(Tsonkhapa)を中心とする集会図(tshogs?in)。中央のツォンカパは黄帽をかぶり、転法輪印を結ぶ。左右に彼の二大弟子、すなわち左に顕教方面の後継者ギャルツァブジェ(Rgyaltshabrje、別称ダルマリンチェン)、右に密教方面の後継者ケードゥブジェ(Mkhasgrubrje)が描かれている。また文殊菩薩の化身であるという信仰から尊者の両肩には利剣と梵篋が置かれている。上部には釈尊を中心に､文殊菩薩と持金剛が認められる。弟子達の大部分は鉢を持っている。
