Explanation
バガンの内陸部、ミンナントゥー村の北側にあるナンダミィンニャー寺院の東壁北側の壁画。寺院は東を正面とする。この図を含めて、同じように獣に騎乗した図が縦に6体並んでいる。これらはその最上部の2体。上の像は獅子のような獣に乗り、下は像は鵞鳥のような鳥に乗っている。ともに口髭と顎髭をたくわえていることから男神と思われるが、尊格を同定するのは難しい。(JT)

『パガンの仏教壁画』pl.145／鵝鳥に乗るブラフマー神／鵝鳥に乗るブラフマー神■ナンダミンニャ寺院の明り窓に通じる凹み外壁の際に描かれているヒンズー神。鵝鳥(ハンサ)の背に跨っているのでブラフマーではないかと思われる。髭面からみて女神ではない。頭に被っている頭巾も何かの生き物の頭を象っている。
