天人像（チャンスィッター窟（No.65））
Explanation
バガンの東部、シュエズィーゴン・パゴダ（No.1）の南参道の入り口の西側にある北正面の洞窟寺院。入り口は地上にあるが、地下に空間を作り、通路と房室を設け、壁画が描かれている。本図は東内側通路東壁の壁画。向かって左側に見える柱状のものは、須弥山を囲む7つの山脈、七金山を表しており、写っていないが中央には須弥山がある。また山上で説法する釈迦が描かれている。反対側にも七金山が描かれ、本図と対称となるように天人像が描かれている。また本図の右側には従三十三天降下図が描かれ、そちらにも須弥山が描かれている。(JT)
