触地印仏坐像（480号寺院）
Explanation
バガンの内陸部、ミンナントゥー村の北側、タンブーラ寺院（No.482）の南にある北正面の寺院。南壁中央の壁画。現在は塑像の本尊が置かれているが、当初は本尊として描かれた可能性がある。上部に釈迦牟尼仏の菩提樹アッサッタ樹が描かれているので、成道釈迦図をあらわす。肩の上部左右にキンナラ（男性）もしくはキンナリー（女性）が描かれている。(JT)

『パガンの仏教壁画』pl.25／降魔成道／釈尊の降魔成道坐像■どの寺院でも釈尊の降魔成道坐像は塑像として祀られているのが普通だから、画像としての降魔成道像は珍しい。写真は279号寺院の成道画像。この寺院はパヤートンズー寺院の東の畑の中にある。超小型の寺院であるため内部には塑像が置かれていない。壁面中央の画像はその代用である。ふっくらと盛り上がった頭部頂上の肉髻、髪の螺髪、眉間中央の白毫､細く長い眉毛、上瞼の中央がいくらか垂れ下がった半眼の目、長い耳朶、円味のある顎、豊かな肉付きの腕、掌や蹠に見られる手足千輻輪などの32相80種好をはじめ、蹠を上向けに組んだ結跏趺坐、両手の印契など、塑像の降魔成道像と変るところはない。強いて特徴をあげれば、後光が頭部の背後に円く輪型に描かれた｢円光｣ではなく、全身を覆うように描かれた｢挙身光｣である事ぐらいであろう。
