ジャータカ図（1077号寺院）
Explanation
バガンの南部、宿泊施設や飲食店などが並ぶニューバガンの少し北にある東正面の寺院。東突出部北壁、寺院に入ってすぐ右手にある壁画。壁面全体を16×16の区画に分けて、1話1図でジャータカが描かれている。反対側（南壁）も同様にジャータカが描かれている。本図の最上列は、左端に釈迦の前世スメーダへのディーパンカラ仏による授記、その右隣りからジャータカ第1話～第15話を描いている。内容を説明する墨書はないが、特徴的な前世、樹神、鹿、魚、鼓手などの並びから、ジャータカが順番通りに描かれていることが確認できる。この北壁全体では、第255話まで描いている計算になる。(JT)
