須弥山世界図／諸天図（ウィニードー（No.659））
Explanation
バガンの内陸部、ミンナントゥー村の北、展望タワーの近くにある東正面の寺院。前室の南天井東側の壁画。前室の天井には、大きな円が二つあり、一つは鉄囲山に囲まれた須弥山世界図、もう一つは仏足跡が描かれている。またその周囲には梵天が描かれ、南天井だけで21体確認できる。梵天の下部に白墨で文字が書かれ、本図左端は「スダッサーブラフマー（善現天）」と読める。これは須弥山の上、色界に住まう天人なので、これらの梵天が諸天を表現したものとわかる。須弥山世界図は、中央に須弥山、それを七金山が囲み、大海の中に閻浮提を含む四大洲が描かれている。(JT)

『パガンの仏教壁画』pl.97／七金山と四大洲／須弥山と七金山およびその外側の大海と須弥四洲■コンドーヂー寺院の図である。須弥山と七金山の断面図は釈迦八相図の三道宝階降下の場面で描き出される事が少なくないが、平面図は稀である。この寺院の平面図は半分近くが剥離しているが、三角形と半円形で四洲の内の二つが表されている。残りの二つが円形と正方形であった事は確かである。この大きな円で表される仏教上の宇宙の外側に描かれている三面の合掌坐像は梵天である。
